RE: WW - Can't find front external speaker wires

Sandjunkie I am one of those phone/wiring guys. Give me a call and I could stop by on my way home from Costa Mesa with my toner. That way you can verify which wire is which behind the radio while were at it. 909-767-0069 Cell George

RE: Firewood

Hell of alot cheaper than three bundles from the grocery store for $15-$20. Good info.

RE: Can a lifted jeep fit into a Weekend Warrior?

Yes... no problem. The ramp is shorter than you wheelbase so the full weight of the Jeep is never on the ramp, just one axle at a time. The limit is the rear bed. Can be set to 78". I just clear the double electric queens with a 4.5" lift and 35" tires aired down to 15psi. The standard tie downs are 5000lb rated and are tied to the frame. Check my profile for links to photo's... Feel free to PM with questions or call. 909-767-0069

RE: Dumont Dunes

Hate to say I told ya so... The real problem with this show is the gun concealing parolee, and his drunken flashing girlfriend now think of this as the fun place to go. I was a Marine, and after seeing this we would have been there the next weekend! Dumont is like everywhere else. There are a few bad apples that get the attention of the police, as they drive past the good people just enjoying the dunes. I did not make it out there this year, but plan to with my 11 year old triplets and their quads.

RE: Dumont Dunes

The show focuses on the rabble rousers and partiers getting busted. Drunken riders getting hurt etc... Like a "cops" show, but in party locations. They did havasu already. Maybe this one will be different, but the previews don't look too promising. George

LED's Lighting requirements and reflectors

Did any Weekend Warrior SLC owners get a notice from WW about a recall related to lighting? If my assumption is correct, when I replaced the tail lights under the ramp with LED's, I realized that not only did the LED's not have reflectors in the lens, but neither did the factory lenses. I went and added the white and red reflective tape that the truckers use (I think I bought it at home depot or walmart) so I could be seen if the plug comes out or I have to leave it on the side of a roadway at night. I will call them tomorrow to verify what the repair calls for. I may have discovered what the descrepancies are.... NHTSA requirements Look at the last table... I may be getting more reflector tape. RE: Jeeping/Off-roading

You can do the "Jeep Jamboree" thing for an organized, guided, social activity ride, or you can just show up at any popular off road area that has jeep/4WD trails and hook up with someone with a similar vehicle. Most Jeepers are friendly folks willing to show an out of towner around the trails. http://www.jeepjamboreeusa.com/ I am a trail guide for the Big Bear Jeep Jamboree and Borrego Springs (formerly known as Salton Sea) Jeep Jamboree. My club, Inland Empire 4 Wheelrs (sic) is also hosting the Big Bear Forest Fest on Fathers Day weekend. www.IE4W.com is thew website for more information. A large percentage of the profits go to keep trails open in the south west. George "Pdiddy" Biddlecombe

RE: WW Repairs

Anyway, the guy I spoke to at the factory told me they no longer perform service there, but I may have a special situation since it could be related to a repair they performed. Hey George - Can you clarify this? The factory doesn't fix trailers anymore? Was this the main Perris factory? Where are they sending people for repairs now? After they shut down the Upland facility, I figured they just moved it all back out to Perris. They stated that they do not do service at the Perris facility anymore, but I don't know if that includes warranty work. I was not able to glean much more than what I posted. I kinda got the feeling that everyone under warranty needed to take their stuff to a local service facility and call for authorization. Since I am out of warranty, I figured I am on my own except for what has been done in the past structurally around my pin box. The person I spoke with seemed receptive to following up on any after effects of the prior repair.

RE: WW Repairs

Mine has always done that. I just scrape it off with a plastic scraper or credit card. If there is limited sealant left I would do as you suggested and add some silicone. As to the Warrior Service problem I finally called the factory to see if I could get someone to look at the front end of my trailer. About a year ago, I had some work done because the frame was flexing and had cracked around the pinbox. They took apart the front of the trailer, cut out the cross bar infront of the pinbox, and welded in a larger one to eleminate the flexing. Everything appeared fixed until recently. I noticed that the seam covers along all the side edges where the walls meet the front cap sheet, have pulled away and appear to be flexing some. Anyway, the guy I spoke to at the factory told me they no longer perform service there, but I may have a special situation since it could be related to a repair they performed. Anyway, I need to take pictures and e-mail them to this guy so they can make a random determination as to what if anything they will do about it.

RE: Anyone use a ramp behind their TH to haul the extra toys?

that looks like a better deal than joe hauler with the free shipping... I am trying to get a roof rack built with Rack N Road with light tabs and the whole works, but their supplier Hildebrandt over promises and under delivers. "IF" I ever get this worked out, I will post the details but it is essentially a roof top carrier like you might see on a Hummer, but designed to hold the quad (a Raptor 700R).

RE: 4th Annual So Cal Rally at Spangler Hills. Nov 9-13, 2007

Well I know where I will be Nov 7 - 10th 2008.... Maybe I will see you there? If everyone just shows up, does that constitute an organized run?

RE: Well..got nailed for not having the non-com Class A DL

Nope... They F'ed up. You should have a restriction 41 on your license, but if they just "gave" you a class A without all the medical and driving tests... good for you. The new license should have printed on the back: "41. May tow fifth wheel recreational trailer between 10,001 and 15,000 pounds GVWR" It took me a few trips and two DMV's to help them learn their jobs.

RE: Which toy hauler would hold a Jeep Wrangler ?

I had warrior upgrade my tie downs with 6000 lb units in the corners for use with the jeep, only to find out the factory ones are 5000lb units. I had thought they were only 2500 rated. I use whatever is convenient now based on what I am hauling... Warrior welds a steel plate underneath and bolts into that sandwiching the flooring and making for a sure mount. No problems in 3 years.
